VOTING and VOTER REGISTRATION IS A NON-PARTISAN EFFORT!

Exercising our right to vote is one of the most patriotic things we can do to help maintain our democracy.

The 2020 national general elections will be held on November 3, 2020.

 

Early voting, absentee voting, and voting by mail rules may vary from State to State and County to County. Contact your local board of elections for more information about rules in your area

All voting and voter registration events should follow the CDC Guidelines for COVID-19.

Tues, Oct 6, 2020 - Wealth Disparities Town Hall

The Greater Washington Community Foundation in Prince Georges County will be hosting a Town Hall Forum exploring the issue of economic mobility by examining the wealth gap and the need for wealth creation in low-income and communities of color. Guest speakers will include Dr. Camille Bussette of the Brookings Institute.

October 2020 - "Take a Loved One to the Doctor" Month

Take a Loved One to the Doctor Month is a national campaign encouraging people to take charge of their own health and then to encourage their loved ones to do the same The “Take a Loved One to the Doctor” initiative was originally designed to encourage more people of color to visit a healthcare professional.

The deadline to complete the 2020 Census is September 30, 2020. You can respond in three ways:

  1. Online at www.my2020census.gov

  2. By phone at 1-844-330-2020 

  3. By filling out the form mailed to your residence.

It’s safe, confidential, easy and important.

 

By law, every 10 years the U.S. Census counts every resident in the United States. Your participation determines representation and how billions in federal funds are distributed. If our community is undercounted, friends and neighbors miss out on an estimated $18,250 per person over a 10-year period.
